[Product Image]My Ancestors Came With the Conqueror

Those who did, and some of those who probably did not

By Anthony J. Camp. 89 pages. ISBN 0-946789-02-9.

In 1931 a bronze tablet was set up in the Castle of Falaise in Normandy containing the names of 315 persons who are described as the Knights who fought at the Battle of Hastings on 14th October 1066. Unfortunately, English historians have accepted little of the evidence on which this was based. In this booklet, the author examines the historical evidence behind the various versions of the so-called "Battle Abbey Roll", and includes an complete list of those named as companions to William the Conqueror, with notes from contemporary historians.
