The souces available to the family historian researching in the twentieth century are extensive, but, with the exception of civil registration records and the 1901 census, little used. Until now there has been little serious examination of twentieth century sources from the family historian's point of view. The purpose of this book is to encourage you to go beyond the bare bones of the civil registers and census, and to work out your family's history, rather than just its genealogy.
